The 21st Century Queen of the
roller derby is on a Roll!
NEWS JULY
2006: Stacey Blitch appears in the new film documentary titled JAM,
winner of several awards.JAMis
headed to become the finest roller derby film
ever produced.
NEWS SEPT 2005:Stacey Blitch has
just read a pre-released copy of the new novel,ROLLER
BABES the story of the roller derby queen. Stacey
says "It's the best story I've ever read about roller derby and the strong
women in the sport. I recommend it to all my fans and friends."
ROLLER BABES is available at book stores like Amazon.com.
Leaving Iowa, becoming a coach, working
in national TV and International Movies; Stacey Blitsch opens doors
wherever she is. She's on a roll with her dynamic career and stellar abilities.
Bringing a rare athletic talent to the original roller derby
is just one of her passions. It's that talent that featured Miss Blitsch in
the television show Roller Jam and the American Gladiators. Talent responsible
for getting her into auditions for Japanese commercials and major motion
pictures.
One of the few women
with a college
degree in sports management, Stacey is sure to go far in a world where
only men traveled just a few years ago. It was the school who wouldn't allow her
into the men's football games, after proving herself in practice games, that
fueled her competitive spirit. She put on a pair of inline skates one day and
conquered the world of skating with strength and beauty. She's the only athlete,
male or female to incorporate gymnastic moves such as a back flip into the
roller sport.
Stacey Blitsch is the only
skater in the history of the sport to bring both strength and a 'girl power'
motto for the 21st century that has earned her the coveted award of the
Queen of the roller derby.
Stacey Blitsch has been
interviewed for many popular TV shows. One such show is included in the Vacaville
Media Splash video and ran for twenty weeks in three markets in Bay City Bomber territory.
Recently, Stacey added to her
repertoire, that of author. She contributed a heartfelt chapter in the recent
smash-hit book, ROLLER BABES
the story of the roller derby queen. As a roller derby queen herself,
she is the only skater alive today who understands what it takes to become a
'queen' on the banked track. The book is available at Amazon.com
and other online outlets.
Controversy constantly surrounds this athlete. Her
first game with the Bay City team caused a blood curdling argument in the
women's locker room, with her own teammates! The argument lead to the removal of
top stars from the distaff team. When called back to play
additional scenes in the motion picture CHARLIE'S
ANGELS Full Throttle, well, you can only imagine what the other girls thought
when they weren't called back.
Today, promoters are conflicted with
what to do with Stacey. Place her on the visiting teams and make her
skate as a red-shirt? Or develop her into a top white-shirt hero? Well, the
later will never happen as long as promoters continue to pepper the line-ups
with veterans from the 70s and 80s. Look for more controversy!
The world is her oyster, and the derby
is growing again because of her abilities and love for the sport.
