THE PRETTIEST WOMAN IN
ALL PROFESSIONAL SPORTS, TOUGHER THAN ANYONE EXPECTED !
Laura Weintraub, has the looks of a model and was
voted
the prettiest person in all professional sports.
Competitors assumed Laura was all beauty and that she would use those looks
to get better paying positions on teams. Some didn't see her as a
competitive threat.
One day, Laura Weintraub
donned the Bay City Bomber uniform
and suddenly the hardened old-school derby ladies had to rethink their
strategy about this towering power house.
Laura
Weintraub's athleticism takes control of her quiet off track
personality as soon as she suits up. She's one of the strongest female athletes of the 21st century.
"We've never seen a better skater in decades," said Frank Chipple a Bay Area
sports caster.
As an accomplished
skater, holding over 30 championship titles; every team in the nation is
making moves to scoop her up. Recently, she's been approached by Japanese
team owners.
Laura
started skating at three-years old and spent many years in the rugged
world of roller hockey. Professional Hockey taught her competition,
camaraderie and teamwork. Compare that to the old school roller derby skaters any day!
Laura
may look like the girl next door, she's quiet and sweet off the track; while
she remains one of the most competitive women in professional sports today.
She's an inline roller hockey star who's made a big splash in the world of
roller derby.
Television
executives and producers see her as a top star. Look for this starlet to
grace
the big screen in the major motion picture, Charlie's Angels Full
Throttle.
Growing up on inline skates, Laura keeps her
blades when maneuvering on the banked track. "These skates are what I'm most
comfortable in", she said in a television interview.
Not since the
Golden Girl, Joan Weston, has the world of
roller sports seen someone like Laura Weintraub. Proving that women in
sports keep growing and get stronger
and even prettier with each generation.
"Given a
sprinkle of additional banked
track experience, Laura would be a bigger sports
personality than the great and late Joan Weston", says Keith Coppage
the Bay City Bombers general manager.
"No one is going to look back and yearn for the old
days of roller derby when the Bay City distaff squad has someone like
Laura Weintraub", said Keith.
Laura
Weintraub is a bright, energetic, outgoing woman who speaks with
confidence and presents herself with grace.
It's hard to imagine her as
a tough competitor in aggressive sports. An absolute hockey
fanatic, Laura plays for the MLRH Florida Thundercats and skated on
TNN's
Rollerjam and also the legendary Bay City Bombers
of the
American Roller Derby League.
A stand out star with TNN"s RollerJam
When
asked how competing in roller derby compares to playing hockey. Laura's
reply is:
"Both sports have
similarities. They're fast paced, high energy, and aggressive and both
sports require wheels. I grew up on wheels!"
