The most graceful and petite
inliner on the track
'Inline Irma!'
Irma Reyes is a very small woman but packs one hell of a punch.
Her sports career is deep and diverse. She's involved with so
many extreme crazes that people wonder how she found her
way to the Bay City Bombers?
Irma Reyes is involved with snowboarding, sparring, Wake boarding,
Kayaking and several other events involved with ESPN's now famous X-Games.
Perhaps one of Irma's most important accomplishments, aside from
birthing her adorable young son, is that she holds a brown belt in Karate.
Managing to find
many hours a week to dedicate to Karate and tackling the coveted black belt.
Not surprising, there's more to Irma Reyes than what meets the
eye. Catch Irma Reyes in 2003 in Matrix II, the sequel to the original
sci-fi action-adventure blockbuster. She can
also be spotted in several National commercials like her recent gig for VISA
and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. She finds many media interests outside of
her roller derby career.
Irma was the first inline woman to be integrated onto the Bay City
Bombers, and referred to herself as "inline Irma". She shook up the
women's squad at a time when the other women said that it could not be done.
"She will trip us," they said. "Inline skates ride the track all wrong,"
another pleaded with management. Irma showed them that they were wrong, and now those skaters are washed
up by the athletic elegance of Ms. Irma Reyes "the Raven".
"All the other sports that I am involved are great", she explains. "But I
love the teamwork in the banked track sport". She says that the other sports
cannot give her the thrill of what the derby can when it comes to team
strategy and working with so many other athletes.
She is a rookie on the Bay City Bombers and enjoys the position of an inline
Power Jammer for her team. Irma Reyes will be someone who needs to be
watched over her skating career as she has proved to her X teammates that
she has the competitive spirit it takes to become a winner.
