the history of Roller Derby at Kezar Pavilion. Audience reviews

The Bay City Bombers is blessed with a loyal fan base
for over 50 years, but for the rest of the world, Roller Derby ceased to exist
after 1973. It wasn't until 2001 that the skating scene changed. Roller
Girls in Austin Texas started a grass roots flat track version of our
sport inspired by this web site. Over the past 9 years, Austin's idea
blossomed to include over 400 roller rinks and a revolution in derby was
evident.
Today, Flat Track Derby brings fans into small
roller rinks, hockey courts, halls and arenas around the world making the sport
of Roller Derby accessible to millions without a banked track. Roller Derby is
more popular than ever and the fastest growing sport in America!
The roller rink style of derby has influenced our
own banked track Roller Derby in San Francisco where the home of the
original banked track Roller Derby BOMBERS popularity has exploded as more
people learn about the sport. Capacity frenzied crowds and long ticket lines are
a part of every modern BOMBER game.
Roller Derby's future is bright.
The BOMBERS thank all Roller Girls around the world who helped the San Francisco
legacy to continue with immense support.

The Bay City Bombers combine
efforts with the (ARSD) American Roller Skating Derby and
other derby groups in order to invigorate the modern banked
track roller derby with the classic home team, the
BOMBERS. Today's BOMBERS
is a rough, tough, athletic competition, mixing trash-talkin'
attitude, showmanship, wipeouts and injuries, that keep huge
audiences thrilled.
The famed BOMBER TEAM is the
acknowledged industry leader of professional roller derby
and abide by Internationally sanctioned
rules.
